ALL INDUSTRIAL FISHING VESSELS OPERATING IN LIBERIAN WATERS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A LICENSE ISSUED BY THE BUREAU OF NATIONAL FISHERIES
Licensing requirements and documents can be found in the Licensing Requirements - Industrial section of this website, or are available for pick up from the Bureau of National Fisheries. This includes the obligation for the fishing vessels to carry both a Liberian Observer, and Vessel Monitoring System (VMS).
In order to increase transparency and as a measure to combat Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing at the national, regional and international levels, a complete list of all industrial vessels is published below on this website, and is also available on request from the Bureau of National Fisheries. This list will be updated continuously, and can be considered current.
